School support – simply explained

Every child has the right to be fully included. We explain how school companions help break down barriers and ease the daily school routine.

A support that gives you freedom

School support means that a child receives assistance during the school day when they are not (yet) able to manage it on their own. This can be for a few hours a day or for the entire duration of their schooling.

The goal is always the same: inclusion. We ensure that your child is not just physically present in the classroom, but truly engaged—whether in learning, during breaks, or in social interactions. We act as a "translator" for difficult situations and as an anchor when things become overwhelming. Our ultimate goal is to make ourselves unnecessary, step by step, as your child learns to navigate their own path.

There are many reasons why a child might need a BegleitLicht. We support children with a wide range of needs:

We don’t look at the diagnosis; we look at the individual. We give every child the space and time they need to unlock their full potential.

Wherever school takes place

School doesn't end at the classroom door. Our BegleitLichter are there wherever they are needed:

In daily lessons and during breaks

We are by your child's side throughout the entire school day, ensuring every experience can be shared.

The right form of support

Every situation is different, which is why we offer various approaches:

1:1 support

A dedicated support person looks after your child exclusively. This creates a sense of security and a deep foundation of trust. Should your BegleitLicht be ill, we will of course do our best to find a substitute as quickly as possible.

The pool model

If several children at a school need support, we can put together a team (a "pool"). The support staff then look after the children together. This often encourages interaction and makes the assistance even more flexible.

We are just as diverse as the children we support. Our team includes young talent, experienced professionals, career changers with a heart, and people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
